Radiant Church was founded in 1988 as Bridgeway Church and in 2017 began a process of replanting. It was relaunched in 2020 as Radiant Church and is now a small but growing church plant. We are looking for a gifted administrator who has a heart for ministry to help the church carry out its mission with excellence.  

Qualifications

  • Two or more years professional experience (as administrator, office manager, church staff)
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, and Google Apps) and ability to learn new programs.
  • An active member in good standing of a like minded church, in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2001, and able to be an active member and participant at Radiant Church.
  • The job requires 20-25 hours of work each week.

Job Description

The responsibilities of the administrative assistant will fall into two categories of general administration and finance.

General Administration

  • Provide administrative support as needed to the pastors, staff, ministry team leaders, etc (may include printing, scheduling meetings, calling people, typing letters, emails and documents, and more).
  • Welcome church visitors to the office and ensure the office is tidy and inviting. 
  • Present on Sundays (and at other church events) to connect with members, guests, and ministry team leaders to make sure they all have what they need and to assist in any way. 
  • Maintain the Church Management Software (Elvanto/Tithely) and use it to communicate with members and groups. 
  • Coordinate hospitality needs, including refreshments, decorations, and setup for meetings and events.
  • Process visitor Connect Cards and ensure guests receive welcome materials and answer any questions they may have. 
  • Oversee the reservations of the building and maintain the church calendar. 
  • Ensure that all calls and inquiries are answered with professional courtesy and directed to the appropriate person.
  • Process mail (from multiple locations) and distribute accordingly. 
  • Maintain all the non-financial records of the church to include attendance and member’s profile, and create attendance sheets and reports 
  • Prepare and print the church bulletin each week
  • Prepare and send the church’s weekly electronic newsletter through Constant Contact.
  • Maintain office and facility supplies and contact vendors if office equipment is not working properly. 
  • Screen children’s ministry volunteers through Facts on Demand
  • Edit Sunday audio and upload to the website along with a transcript and Youtube link of the sermon.
  • Regularly update website information and events.

Church Finances

  • Print checks as needed or requested.
  • Track and organize financial documents, including credit card statements, check requests, and ministry deposits.
  • Maintain the financial records.
  • Process invoices and check requests in a timely manner, submitting them to the accountant and saving them appropriately on the Google Drive.
  • Coordinate contracts and payment to vendors.
